Oran Weather

Oran is a small unincorporated farming community in northeast Iowa with a population of about 100. It boasts a fire department, a community hall, two churches. Its businesses include a hardware store, telephone company, a bar, a meat locker, and a large agricultural service which serves a wide area, including several larger towns.

We've had several hits from people who were searching for "Oran", but not Oran, Iowa.
One fellow's name was Oran, another is from a company named Oran in Canada that makes windows.
He asks... where did Oran get its name? Anyone know?
